Kony 2012

What is your opinion about the invisible children's campaign?

The idea of making Kony famous, making sure people know who he is and what he’s doing, I think is great. I now know that the Invisible Children-campain has things I don’t really agree with, but I still think that you should spread the word and make Kony ”famous”. I think that people need to know about him, and that you don’t hear so often about what’s happening in Africa here in Europe.
All the criticism about the Invisible Children campaign has made me unsure about what I should think. Just a few days ago i trusted everything Invisible Children said, but that was because I only got their side of the story.

What do you know about the LRA? If nothing, find out some facts and write them down. Write down where you got the facts from.

I’m not sure if what I know is all real, because everything I know is basically from the ”Kony 2012” video... And I don’t know how much of that video I can really trust anymore. But what I know is that the LRA is a rebel group, led by Joseph Kony. The LRA abducts children and forces them to become soldiers and, well, kill their families. I don’t really know why Kony does this, but I suppose it’s just because of the power. Power can really drive some people crazy.

How do you know whom to trust in TV and media?

I have no idea... It can be really hard to know who to trust. I guess you have to decide on your own in someway. Think about it, does this really feel right or made up?
Have you trusted this person before, or is he/she all new for you? If you trusted someone before and they told the truth, you should probably trust in them again. But if it’s the first time you hear something from someone, it’s hard to decide if you should trust them or not. Just... See if there is anyone else saying the same thing...

Movie-time. :D

127 hours.

The movie is about Aron Ralston, a nice, quite goofy guy who loves to adventure in all ways there is. He has very bad contact with his family, almost never answer the phone when they call him.
One day he decides to go and explore the Blue John Canyon.
He wanders around in his house, trying to find everything he needs. He fills a bottle of water, packs his climbing ropes and so on. He can’t really find his good knife so he takes another one that he finds, some cheep thing. How often do you really need a knife when you’re only out walking?
After a long drive he camps in his car over the night, and then the next day he rides his bike towards the Blue John Canyon.
On his way he meet two girls that are lost and he helps them find their way. He walks with them and has a really nice time, they swim in small lakes in one of the caves and record it with one of Aron’s cameras. They get along very well and one of the girls gets a bit interested in him, so they decide to invite him to a party.
After a while they say goodbye and walk away in different directions. When Aron finally get’s to the Blue John Canyon he sees a crack in the cave. It will lead him to a tunnel that then later will lead him to the Blue John Canyon. He jumps down, but on his way he bumps a boulder. The boulder falls down over him and presses his arm to the wall...He can’t move his arm. He’s stuck.
Now when his arm is under a big boulder everything changes.
When Aron’s stuck in the cave his life is all about surviving. He does anything to survive, and to keep sane. He tries to hack the stone to get it away from his arm and he tries to lift it up with his ropes... Nothing works.
The camera he used before to film he now uses to record messages. He almost makes some sort of vlog where he talks about everything that happens. Even though his family can’t watch what is happening at the moment he feels some sort of connection between him and his family through the camera.
He’s starting to understand more and more that it’s important to have people in his life.
Aron starts daydreaming about his life, he thinks back and remembers fun memories from when he was a child and spent time with his family. Memories of his ex-girlfriend, the time they had together and he imagines how the party with the two girls would have been.
Aron starts hallucinating about almost everything, mostly Scooby Doo, but on day five Aron sees a blond little boy. His unborn child.
The sight of his future child gives him the strength to break the bone in his arm. He takes the knife, which isn’t sharp at all after trying to hack the stone, and cuts the rest his own arm off. Ofcourse it isn’t as easy as it sounds, especially not when he doesn’t have a good knife. His knife isn’t sharp at all after the hacking in the stone.
After he cut his arm off he finally can leave the boulder, but first he takes a picture of his arm... That is still left pressed to the wall by the rock. He find a family who are out walking and they help him to a hospital... After they have given him lots of water ofcourse.
One of the last things you see in the movie is the real Aron Ralston, the man who actually did all this. That man needs an applause or something.

Food-poem-thingys. XD

Here’s two food-poems-thingys I had to translate from english to swedish... The english version is alot catchier because, well... It rhymes. (The poems are still epic, because poems about food is always awesome.) Here’s the swedish version!

Mat mat verkligen aptitretande
Mat mat verkligen frestande
Mat mat verkligen aptitretande
Mat mat verkligen frestande

Bodychanges

When you get older you change, both mentally and physically. You change during all your life, but mostly in your teenage years. Because I’m a girl, I know more about what happens to girls because... Well, Isn’t that obvious?
There are some differences between boys and girls as they grow up, except from the obvious stuff like genitals and all that stuff.
When girls grow up their face gets longer and more oval, because bones in their face grows. Girls faces grow more slowly than boys, and that’s one of the differences I guess...
Both girls and boys get darker voices during their teenage years, but boys voices goes really dark really fast... And for girls it can be difficult to hear the change.
Girls get wider hips than boys, just so that it will be easier for them when they get pregnant, and girls gets thinner waists than boys.
Boys and girls have the same amount of muscle mass until they hit puberty, then boys testosterone raise and they start gaining muscles (And the high testosterone level can also make them a bit aggressive...). About the same time as the boys testosterone level rise, girls estrogen level rise, which builds up body fat, but not really so much muscles...
I think it feels kind of strange knowing that my body is changing all the time. If you look at a girl my age and a girl who is about... Nine or ten maybe, You can se a lot of differences between us, but then you look at at girl my age and a fully-grown-woman... You see how much there still is to grow...
The human body has to change, because if our bodies worked and looked like when we were kids (Except from maybe that we get taller)... Well, kids can’t... ”Produce”... Other kids. So... Well emh, we need to change or else no more humans will be born.
So of course there are good things with that our bodies are changing, and that our bodies change differently. Why would a boy need the wide hips when they’re not going to get pregnant anyway?
And that’s all I can think of right now that I wanted to write down...

Passions!

Here comes a few questions about passion, and my answers to them.

1. What is your passion, why?

My passion has to be Harry Potter. It’s an amazing book-serie, I love the books, movies and everything around it. I have met many people that mean a lot to me thanks to Harry Potter-websites, and it feels weird to think how it would be not knowing them. I love the feeling of opening one of the books and just sink down in it, laugh when they tell jokes to each other, cry when characters die. When the last movie was released, Louise and I sewed robes that we wore when we saw the movie. (Her robe looked a lot nicer than mine, haha.)

2. Tell us a weird passion you heard of.

One of my friends (A Harry Potter fan, just like me) collects After Eight papers, you know, the little pieces of plastic that cover up the minty-chocolate-thingy. She started collecting them, just for fun, in the summer 2008. Now she has lots of them! She counted them, and told me she had 406 of them. I would say that is quite... Special, and awesome.

3. Why do you think people have passions?

I think that you need something to focus on, except from the usual stuff like work, school or housework. Something that you can use to ”get away” from those things and just... Enjoy whatever you’re passionated about. Forget things that you don’t want to remember, just for a little while.

4. What does your passion require in time, gear, money?

It takes time, because it takes a little while to read the books and see the movies. You could rent the books from your library, so it should not cost so much if you choose just to read the books. Of course you can do like me, buy the books, movies, side-books (Books that have been mentioned in Harry Potter, that J.K.Rowling later has written in real life. I’m thinking of buying ”Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them”), house-scarfs, house-ties and lots of other things. That can be quite expensive... But that’s not a problem for me, I love Harry Potter so much I don’t care.

I got two questions from my teacher a couple of days ago about energy and the environment. Here they come! (And what i answerd...)

1. Think about a way to get energy, which is not from fossil fuels.

Invent or present a alternative way you heard of.
I thought about the bicycle-lights that don’t need any batteries, the ones that start shining when you ride your bike. What if you could make something like that... But you attach some sort of machine-box-thingy that can store the energy that you build up while riding your bike?
And it would be great if you could charge your technical things, like your phone or your computer at any time you want, with the energy that you have built up. Maybe you could save the energy, and then sell it and earn some money? You could take the little machine-box of your bike and bring it to some sort of station where they attract the energy out of the box. The energy you sold could be used for such things as trains, the subway, or to warm up houses? (Or other electronic-things like escalators, elevators, you name it)
But exactly how that is supposed to be invented, I have no idea.

2. Which one is most environment friendly. Paper or your computer?

Reflections and argument why!
I’m not really sure at all, that totally depends on the user of the computer.
Is the user of the computer very careful when he/she is around it, or does the user do whatever he/she wants?
If you don’t take care of your computer you’ll have to throw it after a little while, and... Well, it’s not so environment-friendly to buy new computers all the time.
But paper can easily be overused...
It’s easy to write a couple of words on a paper, make something wrong and then just throw it.  What if you are a person who love to write, and then like print out your novels that you just wrote? Or if you love to print out pictures and tape them to your wall? (Or you just like to draw?) Then alot of paper is used... But ofcourse there are some people that almost never print out things, or write by hand.
So I don’t really know what I think, but if I had to say something... I would probably say that my computer is more environment-friendly... Because you need new paper everytime you want to do something, but you only need one computer for a very long time.

Some questions about chemistry!

Hello there, and welcome!
In my last post I wrote that i dont know a lot about chemistry... But now I’m going to answer some questions I got from my english teacher about it. And, let’s see how much I could figure out with some help, shall we?

1. What is chemistry?
I would say that... Chemistry can be how atoms combined builds up everything we know, including ourselves. It can also be making color with help from plants, or dye yarn with mushrooms. I also see chemistry as medical science, new types of medicine and ways to perform surgery doesn’t just come by it self.

2. Why do we need a subject like chemistry?
I think that everyone need some basic knowledge about some things, and chemistry is one of them. I think if you have chemistry as a subject in school then maybe more people wants to be scientists. More scientists is good, right? That means more brains that work together to find answers to some hard questions!

3. Why is it valuable to know certain things about chemistry?
I’m not really sure if you mean as an individual, but I’m going to answer to the question like you mean that. Eh... Because it can be dangerous to not know anything about chemistry. I mean, it is dangerous to not know anything about it. What if you... You... You... Set something on fire?

4. What is a chemical element?
A chemical element is a substance that only contains atoms with the same number of nucleons and protons in it. It’s a basic element that build up everything. What we know, there is 118 elements. You can find all of the discovered elements on the Periodic Table.
